New Look Sale.

Due to being on sick pay at the moment (meaning I’m living off £165 a week less than what I’m used to – ouch) means that I have very little money. My outcome for bills is higher than my income, but when I saw that New Look had an ‘up to 50% off’ sale on, I just couldn’t resist.

I know that it sounds stupid when money is so tight at the moment but for me, shopping is an addiction. Telling me not to spend money on clothes is like telling a smoker not to buy fags, an alcoholic not to buy beer and a drug addict not to buy cocaine. It’s easier said than done.

I don’t know about anyone else, but when I’m shopping online, unless I have a lot of money to spare or it’s for a set occasion, I set myself a budget. This budget is usually between £50 and £70 unless it’s for the above-mentioned reasons. However, due to my low income at the moment, I set myself the budget of just £20.

When I went onto New Look’s website, I didn’t expect to get much for £20 but I thought it was worth a look, despite having two bulging wardrobes and eight or nine bulging drawers. You can never have too many clothes, right? I don’t know about anyone else but when online shopping, what I tend to do is pop everything into my basket / cart that I like, and then narrow it down when I go to check out… So that’s what I did.I ended up within my usual budget - £65 worth of stuff, but I knew I realistically couldn’t afford that. So I scrolled through and picked out some of my favourite items, being careful not to spend more than £20. This is what I chose;

RED WAFFLE TEXTURED LONGLINE BLAZER

This item was an absolute MUST for me as I have been looking for a red blazer for a long time. If this item had taken up my whole £20, I would have still purchased it. However, it was an absolute bargain! Originally priced at £17.99 (which is dirt cheap for a blazer anyway), it cost me just £6 in the sale. Absolutely amazing!

BLACK CROCHET BACK FLORAL PRINT VEST

Unfortunately, this item has been removed from the website because it has sold out which is why the picture is so low quality. However, I chose this because I am a sucker for any form of black vest and the fact it was floral as well made it appeal to me even more. I have no idea what the original pricing was due to it's removal but I paid just £4 for it!

PINK FLORAL SLEEVELESS SHIRT

As above, the item has been removed from the website due to being sold out so apologies for the rubbish picture and not knowing the original sale price, but this beautiful floral shirt cost me just £4 in the sale.

WHITE PIANO KEY HEART TANK TOP

This top was again a must-have for me as I love pianos/keyboards and love hearts, so why wouldn't I buy it? It is an online exclusive for New Look and although it has a small reduction, originally priced at just £6.99, I bought it in the sale for a measly £3! Bargain!

WHITE NEW YORK CITY BATWING T-SHIRT

My final purchase was for this New York City t-shirt. If you know me, you'll know I'm obsessed with cities and New York is one of them despite never having been there! I also love batwing tops because I think they look good. This top was reduced from £9.99 to £3! 

I have kept the two items that have been removed at their reduced price of £4, as I do not know what their original price was, BUT even still, look at the money I saved...

Total spend should have been: £42.97
Total of what I actually spent: £20.00
In total, saving a massive: £22.97

Five items of clothing for just £20 with free delivery to my local store – I couldn’t have asked for a better bargain! I can’t wait for my new clothes to arrive.

Here’s a little secret for you all – these clothes are all from the Teens section of the website (Generation). If you are of a smaller build, check out the size guide as you will find some sizes equate to size 4 or 6 and some are even bigger! You will save a lot of money if you can fit into childrens and teenagers clothes, as you do not have to pay VAT on them and their sales tend to be a lot better!
